My Floridian Bones, Yummy Food and the new Harry Potter trailer!

Oh my.

The temperature high here is going to be in the 60s tomorrow! Brr. The weather is beautiful, but Mother Nature should have given us a warning before all of this coldness. Or gradually sank into the cold weather. But from the 80s last week right into the 60s? That's just cruel.
Not that I'm complaining. I'm not particularly fond of the cold weather (I really could never live in Alaska or anywhere like that), but a little coldness is o.k. I'll deal with it, I guess.

I know, I know, probably half of you reading this are like "What?! 6o degrees?! That's not cold - at all!"
Well, excuse me. I am a true Floridian who's bones are certainly not accustomed to the cold weather. Forgive me.

Anyway, Mom made enchiladas! My, were they good. :D
I wonder why the both of us always post about food? Maybe it's because we're Italian? That might have something to do with it. ;]
Mmm, plus I just had a fresh orange that Aly and Dad brought home from camping. Wow, was that good! Thanks to whoever planted the trees in Highlands Hammock - my stomach is very happy with you right now.

Annnnnnnd... the new Harry Potter trailer is out! Go to my friend's blog and check it out: Harry Potter Trailer!
Can't wait! But I really should see the 5th one before it comes out. Has anyone seen it? Was it any good?

Oh yeah, don't forget to vote on my Grilled Cheese poll, because it ends tomorrow.

That's about it for now! Going to watch Dancing with the Stars in a little bit! :)

Quick post, because I really should be working on my newspaper article, but I'm a bad girl and going to put it off until the last possible second.

Aly and Dad are going camping tomorrow. Mom and I were supposed to go, but we decided not too. We haven't really had a chance to just relax in a while (not to mention the fact that we're both sick). Lucy Lu is staying home to. :)

There's a new poll! Please vote! It's a really weird poll, I know, but its because Aly doesn't like grilled cheese and Dad and I are curious to see how many people really don't like grilled cheese! How could you not?

Anyway, have a great night everyone!
Peace, as always.

My Misadventure in Wal-Mart

Ok, I forgot to tell you guys what happened to me in Wal-Mart on Friday:

I'm just walking around, minding my own business, when I spot Chocolate Animal Crackers (the absolute best) on the bottom shelf (they're my favorite). I think "Hey! Animal Crackers! I wonder how much they are..." I bend down to see how much they are, check the price, stand up and bump into those annoying poles that they put smack in the middle of the isles there. You know, the ones that hold the fire extinguishers and the price scanners. They're so annoying, because they're always in the way.

But not a big deal, right? I bump into one.

Actually, yes, big deal, because it turns out that the fire extinguisher is not on the pole very securely - at all. All I did was bump into the pole and the fire extinguisher falls off the pole onto the ground. The valve somehow pops off and the bottle starts spinning at an amazing speed with the extinguisher stuff spraying everywhere. So, I fastwalk/run towards Mom who is at the end of the isle and workers are running from every direction. Smoke like stuff is filling the air and the extinguisher is still spraying everywhere(they pack that stuff tight in the bottle)! I'm just standing there with my mouth open and so is Mom. I don't even remember what Aly and Dad were doing. The workers are going "What's happening, what happened?!" and w'ere just like "Someone bumped into the pole and it fell off." Which was the truth. I just start laughing, because these things only happen to me! I don't think that anyone has ever bumped into a pole and set off a fire extinguisher. We start walking away from the scene, because the smoke-stuff smells and you can almost taste it.

I can now say that I have experienced first-hand how rumors spread. Workers are going to other workers saying "What happened?" which is only natural. Instead of saying, "It was an accident." which it was and which was assumed by everyone, they said "Someone pulled a prank." Others said "Someone thought that there was fire and got the fire extinguisher." Another guy said to himself "What kind of idiot knocks the fire extinguisher off of a pole?!" That annoyed me quite a bit, considering it was obviously possible and I was the idiot (even though he didn't know it). So, Mom and I go to look at clothes and Aly and Dad go who-knows-where in the store. Now, I set the extinguisher off in the food section and smoke is clouding up half of the store and still spreading! It was really crazy.

So, yeah... There's my Wal-Mart misadventure. Hope you never set off a fire extinguisher by accident. :P

I was told to post a poem, so...

Inspiration
Written by Nina

Inspiration
Everyone needs it
If you are playing a sport
Or writing a poem
You need something to carry on with
And bring the thoughts to the paper
Or the strength to the field

Inspiration
Comes from everywhere
Anything can be inspiring
The big blue sky
Or the beautiful moon
Way up high

Inspiration
Is a bird in flight
Soaring to an unmanageable height
Showing everyone who you really are
And how you are a bright star that shines
That's what it is

Inspiration
Takes you out of the dark
And into the light of another world
Whether you're inspired by trees
Or inspired by a person
Inspiration
Is the same

My Odd Ailments, Pretty Necklace, and Concocting Dinner

Howdy!

My week was pretty eventful. Monday we had Martial Arts (as usual) and Tuesday I was supposed to volunteer, but I canceled because of my really horrible headache. Wednesday, Martial Arts again. Thursday we had two doctor appointments - the regular doc and the eye doc. First, we went to the regular doctor. All's well with Aly, except for some allergy's, but that's no biggie. Then, me. I told the doctor that I've been having a lot of problems with my left wrist (for those of you who go to Martial Arts, that's why I keep my wrist wrapped). She said that I have carpal tunnel. Now, when I sleep or type, I have to wear a wrist brace. Yes, fun, fun. It's really annoying, but it makes my wrist feel better, so that's a bonus.

Next, the eye doctor. As usual, everything is hunky-dory with Aly. Me? Well... everything is generally o.k. with my eyes, but I have to start wearing reading glasses. Even though I can still see, I have to wear them because there's muscle strain on my eyes. I might post up a pic or two of them once I get them. Mom says that I'm like an old lady - first the brace and now the reading glasses!

Friday we had a homeschool park meeting. Nothing happened really. And today, Saturday, nothing is going on. Aly went over to her friend's house and I was invited, but I politely declined. Then, I was invited to another get together thing tonight, but I politely declined that one too, because I still have to write an article and possibly get some schoolwork done. But, the first friend who's invitation I politely declined got me a present (I'm going to call her Luna, since she likes that name)! Luna went on a cross-country roadtrip with her grandparents and lil' sister for about 3 1/2 months in their RV. How cool is that??? While in Yellowstone, she got me a really, really, really, really, really pretty necklace. I was going to explain to you the whole necklace, but I'll just post a picture instead:

Here's a close-up of the little bear charm on it.

Here's the whole necklace.

Isn't it pretty?! Love it.

That's about it. Tonight, Mom is going to a party of her own, organized by the homeschool group. They sometimes do a "Mom's Night Out" get-together and that's where she's going! Dad, Aly and I are just going to stay at home and see what we can concoct for dinner. ;)

Here's my overly long post about my trip in Disney World for those who care.

Yay!! We had such a great time in Disney!! Wow, it was a blast. I'm going to just start at the beginning...

The first day that we got there, we just hung out, went swimming and ate (lots of chocolate was eaten). I called my friend to see if we could meet in Downtown Disney (you know, even though she probably wouldn't care if I said her real name, I'm just going to call her TiggerBell). It was actually quite late, but I didn't really care. TiggerBell's parents got called into work that night, so she couldn't, but we made plans for the next morning. We were staying in a really cool hotel, called Pop Century. It's themed like all of the generations starting with the 60's and ending with 2000 (I think). Here's the pool that we swam in (I didn't take the picture):

(you can just click on the pictures to make them bigger)

Isn't it just cute and so Disney-ish?! Love it. And in some of the corners of the pool are flower-showers quirting water everywhere! Too, too cute.

The second day was kind of chaos. I got up in the morning, got dressed and stuff, and then head to Downtown Disney to meet TiggerBell. My Dad and I were the first ones ready, so we got to the bus stop first. When we got on the bus, we met these people from Canada. They didn't know that much about DownTown Disney, so my dad and I are just going on and on like their tour guides or something! Then another lady was asking us questions! It was just really funny. I think that I could get around Disney better than I could get around our own neighborhood. I've been going there for 13 years, so its not a big surprise. Anyway, we got to DownTown Disney. TiggerBell wasn't there, but Mom and Aly showed up right after our bus got there. We took some pictures and here's one of them

Aren't we just cute? This is in front of the year-round Christmas Shoppe in DownTown Disney. That's where TiggerBell and I decided we would meet. So, me, figuring that she would call when she got there, walked into another store. Just as I'm about to walk in the store, Mom says "Is that her?" I wasn't sure! I mean, I've seen pictures of her before, but it's different when you see someone in person. She had her mom and two sisters with her like she said she would, but I just wasn't sure. I was too chicken to walk up to her and say "Hey - are you TigerBell?" So, I just kind of stood there. The girl pulled out her cell phone, so I was like "Hopefully she'll call us!" And she did! And we had a grrrrrrrrreat time. It was so fun. We mostly just hung out in the World of Disney store... Here's a picture of our Mr. Potato Head that we made:

Ok, that sounds too cool for us! We didn't just 'hang out'. Nooo, we ran around the store taking wayyyy too many pictures and saying "Ohmigosh, look at how cuuuuuuuute this is!" and "-gasp- Ohmigosh, it's Joe Jonas! (ok, that was mostly me...)" and "AWwwwwww, Nina, look - its Tinkerbell (that was TiggerBell saying that one!)!" But we all had tons of fun. :D Plus, her family was really, really nice. Thanks for coming and meeting us TiggerBell!

After we met TiggerBell, we rushed back to the hotel room to get ready for the Halloween Party. Aly was a cat, Emily (my cousin) was a cat too (but that costume was itching her, so it soon came off) and Nick and I were just our awesome selves. After all, the youngest and the oldest cousins are always the cutest! :P Poor Nick wasn't feeling very well, so Auntie, Uncle Jose, Nana, Nick and Emmy stayed behind for a little bit. Aly and I were too worked up to stay behind, so our family just got on the bus. Magic Kingdom is just so pretty. It's the best word to describe it. Here's a picture of one of the Halloween decorations:

Aly went on Splash Mountain! :D And -surprise, surprise- it's one of her new favorite rides! Plus, she went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It was a trip full of roller-coasters for her. I went on Space Mountain 5 times in a row. Whoo, that ride rocks. The front seat is the best.

I took lots of pictures of the Halloween Parade, but most of them didn't come out that well. :( If you're really that curious about the parade (which is the best one that I've ever seen in my life), go on YouTube and check it out. Here are all my pictures that came out ok:

Pooh's Float.

You have to have been on the Haunted Mansion ride to know who this guy (and dog) is! It's the Graveyard Groundskeeper and his dog!

A gravedigger. They are just so awesome, but a little scary for little kids (Emily got a lil' scared). Basically, they march in a perfect formation, do a little march-dance, bang their shovels on the ground and spin in a circle to make sparks go everywhere. They're probably one of the best parts of the parade!

Of course, the one charater that I have no idea who it is comes out the best. Life can be so unfair.

These guys are pretty cool too. They're the skull guy band!

That's about it everyone! Hope you enjoyed hearing all about my Disney trip. Peace, Love, DISNEY!

Nina

P.S. Here are just some random pictures that I took...
